Luk Yuen has a special place in my heart because it started out in 1981, the year I started working about 43 years ago. I used to frequent their Greenbelt and Greenhills branches. This was the type of food a salary man could afford and enjoy at that time. Fast forward to today, whenever my wife and I do our grocery shopping at Cash and Carry, we stop by Luk Yuen just to have a taste of how it was like when we were starting out. It is also quite obvious that the clientele who frequent this joint is of a similar age group. Seniors now who used to take their lunch out or snacks at the Luk Yuen branch nearest them. Food - 5*, comforting because they bring back good memories. Not gourmet quality, but gives you a warm hug as if to welcome you back home. Tastes you are familiar with. My favorite has always been the Beef Brisket with Dry Egg Noodles (₱285, soup on the side). My wife goes for the Halo-halo Congee (₱278, regular size filled with wanton, innards, liver, pork slices, veggies, century egg bits and wanton crisps). We then pair them with Pork Siomai (₱198, 4pcs) and Hakaw (₱220, 4pcs). Topped with Buchi for dessert and Watermelon Shake as drinks. Filling and enjoyable. Service - 5*, servers already know us by name and would readily see to our needs Atmosphere - 4*, typical Chinese restaurant buzzing with activity Parking - 5*, plentiful at the Cash n Carry Parking Structure

Fast service, clean area and good food. There's always a line on weekends but table turnover is quick. A lot of shops around to browse while waiting anyway. We always eat here with family - favorites are kingdao noodles (dry version, soup on the side), fried dumplings + rice (R9) and halohalo congee Favorite sharing: hakaw dumplings, pan-fried radish cake and braised chicken feet

Their Beef Brisket with Dumplings Noodles is a must. Servings is good. Ambience is okay, social distancing is being observed. Service is fast. Food taste is still excellent, brings me back to my younger years.

I've been coming to this place for many years now. They closed for a while recently so I was delighted when I saw that they were open again. It's a good place for some Chinese food. We ordered beef brisket, pork siomai, boneless chicken in lemon sauce, and spring roll with kutchay. See attached photos for reference. Luk Yuen is always great for quick meals. I recommend this place.

Post Valentines late lunch with daughter on Feb 16. Luk Yuen is comfort food for both of us. This branch in Cash and Carry, Filmore Makati was the resto then-bf and I ate when we first learned about the pregnancy. This is also a favorite of my grandfather and cousins way back 90s, when Cash and Carry was a smaller, cozy mall. This particular Sunday afternoon started on a high then quickly turned to a low, and picked up when we asked for the bill. 1:43pm arrived with full tables, so expected a longer wait but was brought to our table right away. The branch gets quite full on weekends, as expected. 1:46pm order was taken. Informed waiting time 20 mins, and we were willing to wait. 2:05pm hakaw arrived 2:10pm watermelon and mango shakes arrived 2:22pm ff'ed up. Was told, "Pasensya na Ma'am, madaming ala carte orders." (Sorry Ma'am there are lots of ala carte orders.) I replied, "OK lng. Next time wag tayo magsbe na 20 mins kung di kaya." (It's ok. Next time let's not say 20 mins if can't do it.) Hot and sour soup arrived. 2:24pm yang chow and boneless lemon chicken arrived Asked for the bill a few mins after. Ms. Jessa, one of the servers asked if we had discount card and said that we were getting a FREE Lemon chicken because of their promo. Pleasantly surprised that Ms. Jessa reminded of the promo and offered to have it for our takeout. I heard it being discussed at the other table during order taking, and I just thought it wasn't applicable to us/our order. Salamat, Ms. Jessa! We have Luk Yuen for dinner! Will eat here again if we're in the area.
